With a dry track and once more a Saturday of blustery wind conditions, it was not very easy out there.
Despite this, the winner of the A Medal, the A Scratch and the Daily event was Darrell Cassidy with 77 off the stick for a 66 nett result.
A mere five shots better than his handicap and some left on course - nice round.
Our B Grade Scratch and Medallist returning a score four better than his handicap was Bernard Parker.
Sharp of wit for the day and equally as sharp with the shooting on course, Bernie has damaged his handicap with a fine outing of 83 for his 67 nett.
The Ball Comp all went to players shooting better than their handicap and included Bernie Parker's 67 nett, Michael Baldry on 68 nett, John Hawkins with 69 nett and Craig Filmer with a 70 nett.
Our Bendigo Bank Hole in One did not go off, but a man who has hit this green every week for months has yet again claimed the ball for Nearest the Pin.
Ron Kerr was 3.65m from the pin and claimed the pill.
Our lucky draw for a box of brown lemonades went to Peter Elliott which will go just nicely in his back deck fridge.
2019 Eclectic Results
In the year-long hunt for the best gradually-reducing score (and some moolah) the results came in on Saturday.
In the Scratch division Kevin Hoppe got to 14 under par off the stick for a 57, while Brian Wales came runner up some three shots back on 60.
In the Nett division Robert Bates and Michael Baldry shared the honours for both first and second prizes with Herby Manwaring.
All three recorded an awesome 45 nett for 18 holes after shots and handicaps were considered.
This Weekend
We have a chance to raise money for cancer, see the year off in style and also share in some presentations to our champions this Saturday.
The Peter Davis Memorial Day is in a 2 person Ambrose format this year and the time sheets on the bar are for starts as early as 11am through to 12.30.
This day honours a club legend and past golf president in Peter, and the proceeds go to a worthy cause as Peter would have wanted.
After these presentations conclude, our 2019 Club Champions will be heralded over nibbles with the handing out of major prizes for the year's hard work.
All are welcome to attend and be a part of a lovely afternoon to cap off the formal program, before we get into the summer swing.
