Spectators witnessed some great bowls being played.

On Thursday night George Somerville defeated Chris Hocking 31 to 12. George is a very good Bowler from Young who tried hard but could never get in the match.
Terry Ricketts defeated Tom Glover 31 to 19. A comfortable win for Terry who is one of the main chance is in the competition. He took an early lead over Tom and always looked the winner.
Brian Wales defeated Daryl Miller 31 to 22. A great win for Brian against his much more experienced opponent. He played excellent bowls and always looked the winner.
Damien Miller defeated Matt Peisley 31 to 22. Damien who would be favourite to win the competition showed why he is the best singles player in the south-west district with a good win Matt who also played well but was no match for Damien.
Friday night bowls
Bob Head defeated Warwick Prosser 31 to 28. Bob caused a bit of an upset by knocking off Warwick. A very good match with little in it throughout with both bowlers playing well but Bob was able to poke his nose in front on the last couple of ends played.
Graham Murray defeated Shane McKellar 31 to 23. A good match with both bowlers in good form. There was never more than a couple of shots separating the two bowlers up until the last few ends. Graham was able to get away from Sane for a comfortable win.
Sam Larsen defeated John Balcomb 31 to 11. Sam played very well to win easily over John who tried hard but was never able to get in the match.
Jake Fisher won on forfeit when Greg Thurtell from Boorowa Ex-Services failed to show up.

Ladies bowls pairs championships
A very good close game of bowls with little separating the two teams right up until the last couple of ends where Pat and Keryl had their nose in front 13-11 and looked as though they might cause an upset.
But not to be and Ann-Marie and Dianne picked up three shots on the second last end to lead by one shot 14-13 with one end to go.
Ann-Marie and Dianne put Pat and Keryl out of business when they scored the one shot for a narrow win 15-13.
Summer League Round 2 at Young last Sunday
Harden Hawks
Robyn Apps, Ann Larsen, Anne-Marie and Pyllis defeated Grenfell Dynamos 16 to 5.
Harden Hunnies
Kelly Daley, Chris Hancock, Pat Walker defeated Young Cherry Blossoms 19 to 9.
Mufti bowls Sunday morning.
Terry Rickets, John Hawkins defeated Tony Zervos and Craig Cooper 21 to 12. Tony and Craig won the chooks.
Sunday afternoon
Brian Gibson and Danny Vincent defeated Ged Davis and Warwick Prosser. Brian and Danny won the chooks.
Saturday mixed semi final pairs
Tony Apps and Roby Apps vs Terry Ricketts and Chris Hancock.
Ladies bowls
Last Saturday a ladies singles championship match was played and resulted in a win for Kelly Daley over Donna Chesworth 25 to 19.
It was a very entertaining match with both ladies playing very well.
The first round of the summer league was completed last Sunday at Young.
Our local ladies had mixed luck winning one and losing one. Results were as follows.
Harden Hunnies
Kelly Daley, Chris Hancock, Pat Walker lost to Grenfell Golden Girls 8 to 16.
Harden Hawks
Robyn Apps, Ann Larsen, Dianne Debritt defeated Young Ones 21 to 6.
At the completion of the second round Harden Hawks share the lead with Grenfell Golden Girls and Young Cherry Blossoms.
A reminder for the lady bowlers, a meeting will be held on Saturday afternoon at 4pm.
