Last week, the Trinity School Choir travelled to Tumut to take part in the Mary Quinane Western Region Catholic School Choir Festival, along with seven other schools.

The Choir members, Sophie Barnes, Sara Collins, Christian Johnson, Amber McKay, Tilla Bowman, Poppy Lucas, Beatrice Lucas, Ruby Lucas, Claire Corkhill, Charlie Jackson, Riley Jackson, Zoe Lenehan, Tom Bassingthwaighte, Emerson Mann-Rea, Talia McKay, Jemima Mergard, Jaslyn Killick and Willow Stevenson were all very excited to enter the competition.
"When we were on stage, we were really nervous." Tom Bassingthwaite said. "But once we started singing, the nerves just went away."
The choirs were judged on categories including etiquette, entrance and exit, enthusiasm, musical ability and their general performance.
Trinity choir sang 'Hail Mary, Gentle Woman' and 'Everyone Belongs'.
"They handed out the participation certificates first." Poppy Lucas said. "They announced second place and we all went crazy, because we were the only choir left - we knew we had won."
Choir mistress Donna Wade said she was particularly thankful to the choir for their commitment and dedication to practices and for their fabulous performance on the day.
Amber McKay said that as winners, Trinity will get to host the Western Region competition next year.
"I think everyone in the choir would love to do it again, it was very exciting." Amber said.
The choir and Ms Wade finished their day with a celebratory trip to McDonalds.
