The volunteers at the Anglican Op Shop have just the remedy this problem, starting with their Summer Fashion Parade, that is to be held on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at the Anglican Church on Albury Street, commencing at 10.30am.
"It has become quite fashionable to go 'Op-shopping' in recent years." volunteer Jan Gibson said.
"We are currently selling off all our Winter stock, getting ready for our parade, which will highlight all our summer items."
The Anglican op-Shop is staffed by volunteers and stocks a wide variety of men's, women's and children's clothing, along with a substantial range of household items and books.
"The stock in the shop is all donated, and the Harden Murrumburrah community is very generous." Mrs Gibson said
"We often receive items of clothing with the shop tags still on them. But even if the items are 'pre-loved', we make sure they are all in excellent condition before they are put out for sale."
Nothing that is donated to the Op-shop goes to waste. At the end of each season, any items of clothing that are not sold are collected and sent to third world countries, where everything is given to the poor, where they really have nothing.
The only items that the Op-shop cannot accept are electrical items.
"We cannot sell any items that are not tagged and tested by an electrician." Mrs Gibson said.
"Currently, we don't have anyone that is able to perform that service for us, so we are limited by that, which is a shame."
The parade promises to be an exciting event, filled with fun summer style, modelled by local identities, male and female, of all shapes and sizes.
"Everyone is welcome to attend the parade, all stock that is modelled will be for sale." Mrs Gibson said.
"And we will be serving free Devonshire Tea, made by some of the best cooks in town."
