The walk will meet at the Criterion Hotel on Boorowa Street Young this Saturday at 10.00 am for a 10.30am start.
Panky spokesperson and founder of the 'Joan's Wish' Pancreatic Cancer charity, Guy Turner, is organising the walk as a preview to the main event 'Joan's Wish Show and Shine' on November 9 in Galong.
"We hope to have as many people as possible join us on the walk, wearing as much purple as possible, to get the message out there." Mr Turner said.
"We need to raise awareness of Pancreatic Cancer. We need to raise money to support research into this disease. The fact that in this day and age, that there is no cure, is not good enough."
Mr Turner has organised a bus to transport walkers from Binalong and Harden over to Young to take part in the walk. It will pick up from the Binalong Hotel at 8.30am, the Galong crossroads at 8.45am, Harden Tyre Service at 9 am, The Muddy Duck in Murrumburrah at 9.15 and the Wombat Hotel at 9.35 am.
After the walk, which will tour the main street of Young, the attendees will head back to the Criterion Hotel for lunch and some entertainment provided by Kevin Jones. Then it's back on the bus for the trip home.
"We hope people from Young will join us along the way, and that shops will get into the spirit and decorate their windows with the colour for Pancreatic Cancer, which is purple." Mr Turner said.
"We will be also spreading the word about the 'Joan's Wish' Show and Shine, which will also be the venue for the NSW Sand Drag titles. That will be a really great day and we want to see as many people as possible come out for that."
