"The Camera Club has been in operation for over 10 years, starting out under the umbrella of the Arts Council and Connie McFadyen, who recognised photography as the art form it is." Mrs Ward said.
"We currently have 17 members, made up of a very diverse group of people and skills, ranging from a professional photographer, who has won many awards, through to someone like myself, who sets my camera on automatic and just enjoys the process. I am, however, very willing to learn and hope to pick up a few more skills from the other members."
The Camera Club meets on the first Thursday of every month at the Old Courthouse in Murrumburrah at 7 pm for 7.30 pm.
"We hold a monthly competition, to encourage our members to get out and practise their craft." Mrs Ward said.
"The photos must have been taken within the last month and the topic is chosen out of a hat by the winner of the previous month's competition. The September topic is 'Fantastic beasts and where to find them - animals, birds of the non-domestic type."
"New members are always welcome to attend, and membership is not a 'life sentence'." Mrs Ward said. "If you just want to come along and learn how to use the camera your grandkids bought you for Christmas, there will be someone who will be able to help you."
