Harden Murrumburrah Hospital staff have recently taken delivery of three FL250 Floorline beds, one of which was purchased by the Harden Murrumburrah Hospital Auxiliary and the Harden Freemasons.

The beds, the other two of which were purchased with hospital funds, cost $3700 each.
They are able to be lowered to within an impressive 110mm off the floor, meaning injury to patients or nursing home residents can be significantly reduced or avoided in the event of a fall from bed.
Hospital facility manager Kerry Menz said that these new beds will, in the future, become standard for the Harden Murrumburrah Hospital.
"We are very grateful to the Hospital Auxiliary and the Masons for providing this bed for the hospital." Ms Menz said
"The beds have so many more features than the regular beds, like adjustable arms and two sets of controls, one of which can be locked to avoid injuries."
Another feature of these beds is that it can be quickly locked into the 'ExitSafe' position, which facilitates the administration of CPR in the event of an emergency.
The bed can also be locked into a 'chair' position, for improved pressure management for the patient. It is also a more comfortable dining and sitting position.
Harden Murrumburrah Hospital Auxiliary President Robyn Apps said that the Auxiliary raises money for the equipment through street stalls and catering.
"We cater quite a few functions in the local area." Mrs Apps said.
The Auxiliary also holds Coffee mornings on the second Wednesday of the month. The next is to be held on Wednesday, September 11, commencing at 10.30am at the Community Health building at the Hospital. Special guest speaker at this meeting will be Sharon Hawkins from the Harden Library.
"Our coffee mornings are always a great success and our other fundraising activities have included street raffles and plant sales . I can proudly say that every cent of the money we raise with the help of our community, is donated to the Harden Murrumburrah Hospital." Mrs Apps said
"We currently have 17 very hardworking volunteers who give their all to raise funds for our small hospital." Mrs Apps said.

The Auxiliary will be selling raffle tickets outside Cooper's Choice Cut Butchery on Friday, August 23. Prizes will be fresh vegetable baskets.
