"The Line Dancing club has been going for about 25 years" Member of the Line Dancers, Linda Thompson said. "The luncheon is a tradition we have held for about 20 years. It is something we do for the Seniors in our community."
Everybody over 55 years old, from the old Harden Murrumburrah Shire, is invited to attend the free event, which includes a traditional Christmas dinner, followed by Christmas pudding for dessert.
Local entertainers volunteer their talents and their time to add to the festivities, including a great line dancing exhibition by the hostesses; and each Senior attending receives a gift from Santa Claus, all of which is paid for by the Line Dancers.

"We pay $3 per week to attend Line Dancing, which all goes toward our 'Christmas in July', to pay for the dinner, raffle prizes and gifts." Ms Thompson said.
"It's our way of giving back to the community. We love coming to Line Dancing, it's great exercise, and a lot of fun. The Christmas in July Dinner is a way of giving Seniors in the town an outing and some social interaction that they may not get otherwise."
This years Line Dancing Christmas in July will be held on Tuesday, July 2 at the Harden Bowling Club from 10.30am to 3 pm. Everyone in the community who is over 55 is welcome to attend, but must RSVP by Tuesday, June 25, by calling Margaret Tobin on 6386 2557, Marie Byrne on 6386 2285, or Lil Cooper on 6386 2345.
