Our round one leaders have been at this caper for some time, so it's no surprise that Darrell Cassidy and Robert Bates had a great score of 47 points. Both gents had quite formidable individual scores also.
Our runner-up on the day, and only one shot back, were Craig Filmer and Tam Kennedy who fired in a 46 point round.
Craig and Tam headed up the ball comp with this score, then followed by Ron Page and Bernie Parker with 44 points, and Michael Baldry and Rick Preston who snuck past a big contingent on 42 points in a countback.
It's a tough old game 4-ball and it can see you as a hero this week or a zero next week. Anything could happen in round two this Saturday coming. Who will get the rub of the green ? Or who will tell the biggest lies about their capers and how they got there.
Our Bendigo Bank Hole in One did not go off on Saturday, however our nearest the pin went to Ben Glover who shot one in to 2.7m.
Normally a good range for our club champion to claim the birdie and the three points on the 10th, however a horseshoe throw out caught him off guard.

THE Tuesday ladies fun for beginners is really gaining traction and results for the last two weeks have now been handed in for the public record.
A big thanks to Marj Manwaring for her vision and support of this growing clan.
In the previous week our winner was Cathy Sanderson who shot a very impressive 54 for 9 holes, totalling 32 nett or 4 under her handicap and breaking her handicap by three. Runner-p was Jacqui Solah with a 60 for a 41 nett.
This week saw some new starters including a face fresh to Town. Deb De Graf is understood to be an accomplished Cellist and was very excited with her win on 14 different instruments this week recording a 71 for 49 nett in her first outing at Harden.
Jacqui Solah (the perpetual bridesmaid) was yet again runner-up. The girls set off in the fog for this round last week which has meant that as from next week, tee times for this group will be shifted to noon.
