Jetta Kennett, who also attended Hennessy Catholic College, was the cox in the team from Kinross Wolaroi School's coxed quad rowing team.
The team - Jetta, Freya Neville, Bridget Yeomans, Lucy Jenkins and Isabella Scammell - won the event for their age group at the Australian National Rowing Championships.
Jetta's proud mum Michelle said the team is now hoping to be elected to represent Australia in England at the Henley Royal Regatta in July this year and will be fundraising to get themselves there.
Kinross Wolaroi principal Andrew Parry praised the school's rowing squad.
"On the medal table, Kinross Wolaroi School were the third ranked school in Australia. A fantastic achievement for our small group of rowers," he said.
Dr Parry described the event as "something very special that will stay with them for the rest of their lives".
