Event organiser Kayla Stevens got the idea of holding the colour run to raise funds for the three families when she saw the strain that the families were under.
"There are so many hidden costs, expenses that you don't even think about when someone is going through serious medical treatments. Ms Stevens said.
"We raised a total of $8 280 on the day, which works out to be $2 760 for each family. It is an amazing amount when you consider how small our community is, but it also shows how big our community's hearts are."
All money raised will be given directly to the three families to help with medical costs, travel expenses and other financial pressures that occur while they are away from home.
Kiera Whitehead was diagnosed with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma in November, 2018. She underwent major high risk surgery in February. She faces a long tough battle.
Five year old Louis Abnett had just started Murrumburrah Public School, when he was diagnosed with Leukemia in February.
Lexie Adam was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in October, 2018 and sadly, beautiful Lexie passed away on February 26.
"I was approached by several people on Sunday, wanting to know if we would do it again." Ms Stevens said.
"We are looking into forming a committee and perhaps making the Colour Run a yearly event."
If you would be interested in being a part of the committee, please contact Kayla Stevens on 0437 721 451.
"There are so many people I have to thank, that I am scared of naming people in case I forget someone." Ms Stevens said.
"But I would like to say thank you to everyone who helped out leading up to and on the day. Thank you to everyone who made donations and contributions. And thank you to everyone who attended the event."
