"I have absolutely loved the whole experience." Ms Whybrow said. "I will hold the Harden Murrumburrah Miss Showgirl title until the Show this year, and I cannot express how much I have learned."
Contestants are judged on rural knowledge, general knowledge, presentation and speech, personality, confidence, ambition and life goals.
"The Zone was a full day of judging, starting with a panel of three judges at 9.30 am." Ms Whybrow said. "I was first up in the interviews and each interview lasted about 20 minutes, where the judges asked me about myself, our town, our Show Society and my thoughts on jobs in agriculture in rural Australia."
During the following luncheon, judges observed the girls social interaction with each other and their general presentation.
"The luncheon was great, I got a chance to get to know some of the other girls better." Ms Whybrow said. "Some of the girls i had met in Dubbo and we all got along really well. It says a lot about the level of competitors that we were all so different, but all accepted each other."
The last event on the day was the black tie dinner, held at the Young Showground Pavilion.
"The Young Show Society did a fabulous job, there were about 200 people in attendance and the room looked amazing." Ms Whybrow said. "I spoke first again, and we had five minutes to answer the question that we had been given earlier in the day, which was 'If you could change one thing about rural Australia, what would it be?'
"I would hate to have been the judges, because every girl spoke from the heart and there were some wonderful responses regarding mental health, education and community facilities. Any one of the girls could have won." Ms Whybrow said. "I would definitely love to do this whole thing again. It has taught me so much."
