We are hearing stories of stellar form on Sunday’s at the legendary skins game but it’s been a while between drinks in the big league’s for Mr Brian Wales.
Cometh the December Monthly Medal, cometh the man.
Wales has put in a round for the ages and declared his dominance by four shots nett on the field to claim the B Grade Medal, the day’s event brought to us by the Harden Country Club and also the B Grade Scratch.
Wales has produced a 79 off the stick, for an eight under handicap round of 63 nett.
The round, despite sounding so awesome, did not come without a hint of controversy.
Brother-in-law John Hawkins gave his best Dennis DeNuto impression to Bob Rendell it is believed in trying to implore that the ball sitting out of bounds on the 17th was Walesy’s and not his.
After the jury ruled and with much chagrin, Wales scored a reasonable score whilst Hawk-Eye notched up a Bo Derek (10).
Nice try champ, maybe you owe Mr Wales two free refills on his Guzzlers Mug for that effort.
The A Grade Medal went to Tam Kennedy who is like the post man at the moment – he just keeps delivering.
Kennedy had a 67 nett and called his round and medal win, the day before in a text to this scribe …… cocky!
Kevin Hoppe keeps on producing also with the A Grade Scratch win with 77 off the weapon.
Balls went to Kennedy (67), Robert Bates (69) and Hoppe (69).
The Bendigo Bank Hole in One did not go off keeping our wonderful sponsors so happy at the economy they are getting out of their sponsorship of golf
Nearest the Pin was claimed by Hoppe at 3.1m.
The lucky carton draw went to Hawk-Eye. I would bet they never made it home in their box.
Taylor Triumphs Midweek Golf
FRESH up after the spell last week from the Midweek Burglars Club, Grahame Taylor has pulled out a fantastic round to grab the lollies for the start of December.
Taylor has had a very impressive round of 31 stableford points around the par 24 point, 12 hole layout last week.
Beating his handicap by seven shots, this means that Taylor unfortunately forfeits his entire margin, now resuming this week a lot lighter on a handicap of six. Ouch!
Taylor showed a clean set of heels with second-place-getter David James a mere eight shots back on 23 points.
Third was a case of shared honours between Peter Steinke and, Herby on 22 points. Welcome back Herby.
The mystery ball this week also went to our winner, Grahame Taylor.
This Week
- SATURDAY will be a summer stableford to be played from lunch time. All are welcome.
