What a weekend! The 2018 National Cherry Festival was a huge success and saw an influx of visitors to the region.
The flow on effect to our local economy from these visitors is of great benefit to our community.
Congratulations to both Cherry Queen entrants Amelia Everdell and Clare Grantham for the huge effort you put in to raising money for such great causes.
Thank you to the National Cherry Festival committee and to Mel, Emma and the Hilltops tourism and events team who put so much work into the event.
I also extend my thanks to the outdoor staff for the work they did to ensure the success of the cherry festival.
Thank you to the huge amount of community groups who got involved.
In other news, I am excited about two projects in Boorowa that are almost complete – the showground amenities building and the all abilities playground.
Staff are working hard to deliver these projects which will be of great benefit to the community.
The educational cycle path in Harden has recently been completed by council and I congratulate the Bunyip Preschool for their efforts to raise funds for this project.
It looks fantastic and is a great asset to the community.
We have a record number of projects due for completion in 2019 and I look forward to keeping you updated on these.
As we approach Christmas it is a good time to reflect on how fortunate we are and to also spare a thought for those that are not as fortunate.
Christmas can be a difficult time for many and I use this as a reminder to look out for each other and check in with anyone you may be worried about by asking them if they are OK.
