WELCOME to everyone who has travelled to the Hilltops region this week. There is so much happening in the region, including the ongoing cherry harvest. People from many places are headed to the region to pick and purchase cherries, our signature fruit. There are strawberries, loquats, apricots and peaches available too.
Christmas in Hilltops: With the arrival of December the focus shifts to the end of year activities and Christmas celebrations in the Hilltops region. There are so many opportunities to gather with friends and family, colleagues and other members of the community to enjoy this time of the year.
Christmas Wonderland in Harden: At Harden there is the fascinating spectacle developed by Norm and Joan Porter at their home of the corner of East and Scott streets. They are keen to share their beautifully decorated Christmas Wonderland to one and all. Among attractions, there is the chance for Santa photos. This attraction is open from 5pm to 9pm this Saturday and Sunday.
Carols at Boorowa: Grab a chair, blanket, candle and your best singing voice and join everyone for a great family night at Carols by Candlelight in Boorowa this Sunday. There will be a barbeque from 6pm offered by the Lions Club and carols start from 7pm.
Christmas tree display: Enjoy Young’s Uniting Church Christmas Tree Display, now in its 10th year. There’s no entry fee and this display runs through to Christmas.
Take 5 on Friday at Young: Children from St Mary’s Primary school will entertain at the 66th Take 5 on Friday concert this Friday. The children have a selection of Christmas Carols to perform. This is the second time the school has taken to the Take 5 stage. This free concert series at Young Library is held from 12.30pm to 1.00pm and everyone is welcome to attend.
Advent Art: If you missed the St John’s Anglican Church Advent Art exhibition and film showings over the Cherry Festival weekend, there is still a chance to enjoy the exhibits.
