Harden’s service will take place from 10.30am Sunday at the cenotaph.
Alongside the official events, local bush poet Ted Webber will recognise this historic milestone in a presentation at the Take 5 on Friday concert in Young. Ted plans to present a poignant poem and lift the mood with some well-known pieces too. Singing is also planned, and everyone is welcome to take part.
- Cherry festival: The Woolworths National Cherry Festival is just three weeks away and activities held in conjunction with the festival will start soon. These include the Annual Cherry Festival Veterans Week of Golf, Cherry Festival bowls matches plus art and photographic competitions. Details are listed in the program, now available online and at Hilltop council offices.
- Finale concert: Students from the Young Regional School of Music will perform at the finale concert to be held at Young Town Hall at 6.30 pm on November 18.
- Pantomime: Rehearsals are under way for another pantomime. The show is presented by cast of Young Theatre Company and they have chosen to present Aladdin. The cast offer four performances on December 9.
