The market consisted of 2985 new season lambs, 935 old lambs and 3506 mutton sheep.
The quality of the market overall, considering the seasonal conditions was fairly good with some very good runs of new season lambs and quality lines of mutton on hand.
With all regular buyers present the market could not hold last sale gains, and was quoted by agents to be $10 to $20 down for lambs with the mutton market, at times erratic, although it was up to $15 to $ 20 cheaper for heavy mutton with medium to light mutton $10 off the pace than a fortnight ago.
Once again there was some re-stocker interest on woolly lambs, that showed dryness and where heading to the shearing shed.
Top price of the day went to John Chapman of Harden with an outstanding pen of new season lambs making $175.
With an estimated CW of 25kg and wearing a $7 coat, they came back at $6.75kg CW and went to Australian Lamb Co.
Most three to four score lambs were in the $6.20 to $6.80kg CW
Top price for mutton was a pen of heavy ewes making $123. With an estimated CW of 28kg and a $10 coat they came back at $4kg CW.
A large run of hoggets topped out at $ 149 to average $98. Most mutton ranged from $3.50 to $4kg CW. The hogget market was strong.
