As stated previously, Peter Davis was a successful business man in Harden with his trucks and also a large family.  

Peter gave his time and skills generously to support golf at the Harden Country Club and was president of men’s golf up until just before his passing.  

His wider family saw hosting a golf day as the ultimate tribute, and an opportunity to assist charities (predominantly cancer related) to assist our society’s efforts to try and eliminate this disease that touches everyone or their wider families and friends, in some way.

President of the Country Club Board at present is Peter’s son Tim, and between Tim and the wider family connections, another fantastic day was held by all accounts.  

Great prizes, good food, awesome atmosphere and fundraising this year for CanAssist. A great recipe.

It was only fitting that father-and-son combination of Ben and Jack Glover combined to take out the day – nett winners with 55.5 strokes and blitzing the field by at least five shots in this category.

Runners up in the nett division were Craig and Wayno who knocked out an impressive 60.75 shots after handicap. Scratch winners were regular attendees Robert Bates and Darrell Cassidy who had six under off the stick for 65 shots.

In our novelty events, Ron Fuller Jnr scored well for nearest Lady to the Pin at the 5th (what is doing there?), Tim Davis himself picked up the men’s nearest the pin on the 8th hole, our ladies’ long drive went to Emma Gagerty and Jono Davis put one right out there for the men.

WELL, he is back, and back in a big way!  

David Walker cannot ever be accused of doing things by halves, and so it was on his round for midweek this week.

David has recorded a 32 stableford point score on the 12 hole, par 24 midweek layout – beating his handicap by a whopping eight shots. 

The perpetual bridesmaid for 2018, Ron Kerr, has struck out another good round and is queuing for his turn at the top. Ron had 28 points.

In third this week was Graham Taylor, steadily building again with 27 points, whilst Dave Walker’s good wife Pat claimed fourth place honours with 25 points and beating her handicap this week also.
