Local businesses have decorated their shop windows with lions, minions and flamingos in a bid for the best display.
The winner was Athair, winning $250 with thanks to Twomeys Harden and runner-up Terracotta Restaurant, will receive advertising in the Harden-Murrumburrah Express to the value of $167.
Residents also put their best kites out on display, with the Tyrrell family claiming first place, the Bongiornos in second and in third, the Beals. Winners shared $300 worth of IGA Harden vouchers.
There is a real buzz in the air about this year’s Kite Festival.
Organisers are expecting large crowds, who will enjoy exciting cultural performances, delicious international food and fun, family entertainment.
Many local community groups are involved including schools, sporting groups and non-profits.
