“In Denmark, I had just completed Elementary School, which is equivalent to the Australian Year 10.” Ludvig said.
“When I return, I will go into a Gymnasium, which is like Years 11 and 12, but it focuses mainly in science based subjects. I am not sure at this stage what I would like to do as a career, but I did some work experience in TV and news, and I enjoyed the video production side.”
Ludvig is currently staying at the home of Darren and Robynn Sargent and is already like a member of the family.
“We have done some trips on the weekends, I have been to Cootamundra, Albury, Gunnedah and Junee.” Ludvig said. “We also went to Sydney and Darren and I went in the ‘Sydney to Surf’. That was a lot of fun.”
Ludvig will spend time with two other Harden families, before he heads back home in July.
“It was a big decision to come to Australia as an exchange student,” Ludvig said. “But my parents were very supportive of my decision. I travelled with a group of other Danish students, so I wasn’t on my own.”
“We are not taught a lot about Australia in Danish Schools. It is very exciting to see it for myself.”
Ludvig is now the proud owner of an Australian Akubra and has admitted that he is quite partial to Vegemite.
“I am really enjoying my time in Australia.” Ludvig said.” Now I just want to perfect my Australian accent before I go home.”
