Craig did not have it all his own way and was roundly pushed to beat Ron Fuller Jnr in a countback to claim the Wales Trophy and the A Medal.
Both gents shot a 66 nett in blustery cool winter conditions. Ron Fuller’s round claimed the A Grade scratch as consolation for his sterling round, with 78 off the stick, in turn beating Darrell Cassidy for this honour on a countback.
In B Grade, no-one was more surprised than Ian Bruce that his round held up to claim the B Medal and also the B Grade scratch with 87/71. Brian was kind enough to supply a trophy for both the A & B Grade Medallists and even included a wild wager in the envelope. It was heard that Craig was cheering his horses in to 8th, 9th and 10th place in the 7th race at Sydney, which is a trifecta of sorts.
Balls on the day went back to 72 nett on another countback and were claimed by Ron Fuller (66), Darrell Cassidy (68), Tom Poole (71), Robert Bates (71) and Ron Page (72c/b). The Bendigo Bank Hole in One did not go off this week but nearest the pin was claimed by Tom Poole who dribbled one down to 6.5m from the flag.
Our mystery medal carton draw was awarded to Matt Peisley, making it 2 months in a row and an emergent for professional status in this category.

I DID give everyone the tip after the last few weeks form. I said get your house on Ron Fuller! Sure as God made little green apples, Ron Fuller backs the form predictions of this tipster. It was a closer race than anyone thought. Ron has claimed the bikkies on 26 points, with a countback needed to win the race from Ron Kerr who also had 26 points.
Ron has been deducted the two shots due from his win around the 12 hole, 24 stableford point layout, and now resumes duties this week on a handicap of 20. His form would warrant this has not been enough of a deduction and I tip he will be in the money again shortly.
Peter Steinke took third place on a neat par round of 24 and I don’t think it will be long before Peter stakes another claim at the Midweek goodies. Our randomly calculated ball allocation this week went to Grahame Taylor.
