The Club Triples Championship has reached the Semi Finals stage after one match was played on Sunday. The result was:
Chris Hocking, Warren Chesworth (sub) and Jesse James defeated Terry Ricketts, David Walker and Ged Davis 38 to 16.
A very easy win for Chris and his team. They took the lead early and were never headed. Terry and his team tried hard, but were never able to get in the match.
Semi Finals
The Club Triples Semi Final matches have been set down for Sunday and must be played:
Brian Gibson, Barney Heywood and Dick Walsh v Matt Peisley, Jake Fisher and Terry Hocking.
Chris Hocking, John Balcomb and Jesse James v Shane McKellar, Danny Vincent and Brayden Jurd.
Mufti BowlsSunday morning
Tony Zervos, Shane McKellar and Warwick Prosser defeated Rod James, Ian West and John Hawkins 13 to 9.
Tom Hawkins and Dick Walsh defeated Craig Cooper and Di Walsh 13 to 11. Craig and Di won the chooks.
Mufti Bowls Sunday afternoon
Brian Madden and Di Walsh defeated Shane McKellar and Keryl McKellar 18 to 11. Brian and Di were the winners of the chooks.
Kelly Daley, Dick Walsh and Tony Zervos defeated John Peterson, Cary Peters and Warwick Prosser 12 to 11.
Club Fours Championship
Entries are currently being taken for the Fours Championship. A list s on the notice board and will close September 15.
Ladies Bowls
Robyn Apps, in her position of South West District President, along with Dianne Debritt and Judith Mulligan (South West Secretary) attended the Young Ladies President’s Day last Tuesday. Also in attendance, were local ladies Joan Clark, Sonia Corcoran and Chris Hancock. Both teams played well to win their games, but no prizes.
Saturday, September 15, the ladies are hosting a Mufti Bowls afternoon. All Welcome. This will be followed by the Women’s Bowls meeting.
Lady Bowlers are reminded that Club Championship entries will close on Friday, September 14. No late entries will be accepted.
Harden’s President’s Day will be held on Saturday, October 13. All those interested should put their names on the noticeboard or contact Robyn Apps. Entries close October 7.
Yass Bowling Club Charity Day
Local Bowlers Terry Ricketts, David Bodell, Shane McKellar, Brian Gibson and Dick Walsh attended the Yass Bowling Club’s Charity Day to help one of their young bowlers, Daniel Wilson, who is suffering from a serious health problem.
It was great to see so many people turn up to make it a very successful day, raising $26 000 for Daniel and his family.
The local boys, plus Terry’s son-in-law Ben, all finished in the prize winners.
