I was born in Liverpool in Sydney to an Australian mum and Maltese dad. My mum had always wanted the adventure of living overseas, so in 1986, Dad packed the family up and moved us to Malta.

I attended a Convent school in Malta until we returned to Australia, settling in Canberra, where I completed my schooling.
In 2003, the travel bug bit me again and I spent the next ten years living between London and Malta.
Malta is a country of multicultural array. It’s a little island in the Mediterranean Sea and has a population of over 400 000 people.
There are many things to do, walk along the many beautiful beaches, visit “’Popeye Village’ which was used in the movie ‘Popeye’ and starred Robin Williams.
I also liked to visit the historic ruins which were used in the movie ‘Gladiator’, staring Russell Crowe. A touch of Hollywood on such a small island.
I was able to live there through my dad and become a Maltese citizen and obtained duel citizenship with Australia and Malta.
Working in Malta in 2006 was an unbelievable experience. It is an amazing place to visit for anyone to enjoy.
I was then offered an opportunity to go and live and work in London, which was something I thought would never happen, but I had nothing to lose.
It was amazing and a cultural hit at the same time, so different to anything I had experienced in either Australia or Malta.
The sun in winter goes down by 3 pm which was very different to Australia. Looking back at that time, it seems very surreal that I did all on my own.
I had a career in optics in London and worked at the famous Harrods. Mohammed Al Fayed also worked there at the time, for David Jones in Harrods.
At the end of 2012, I returned to Australia, to spend more time with my family as I had been traveling for ten years. It was while I working in Sydney, I met Jamal. He eventually convinced me to come to Harden with him to help in his family business ‘Twin Town Pizza’, and we arrived in May 2016.
I fell in love with Harden immediately, the people are very welcoming and friendly. Jamal seems to be very popular in the town so it was very easy for me to settle in, everyone seemed to accept me straight away.
The Hilltops is very different to Sydney, I have found it very easy to settle into the slow pace after Sydney’s very hectic one. I love the fact also, that driving is so easy around here! No roundabouts, no traffic lights and definitely no traffic jams to be stuck in.
I have gone back to studying for a Bachelor in Applied Business Management.
