President of the Harden Poultry Club, Dale Ashton, said he was very pleased with the turnout on the day and that there had been around 500 entries.
“Our entries were down a little bit compared to last year, but we introduced a computerised entry system this year, which may have scared some of our regulars off a bit.” Mr Ashton said.
“But we also introduced an ‘egg’ section this year, which went really well. We hope to make it bigger and better next year, getting some locals who may have a few chooks in their backyard, to enter six eggs. That would be a great event for kids too.”
There you go folks, you heard it here first. The answer to the age old question of which came first: the chickens came first and then the eggs.
