Under 6s
The Harden Under 6s played a couple of friendly games against the other Harden Under 6s. All the kids had heaps of fun playing against some of their mates from school.
Clair Corkhill and Chase Peterson are improving with every game they play. Indigo Douglas seemed to find a little bit extra when she filled in for the other team showing nice skills, dribbling the ball and scoring some good goals.
Darby Abnett also filled in for the opposition team which ended up being a great match up between him and his mate Sammy Dunstan, both young players displaying great awareness and sportsmanship. Well done kids a great effort in what was a cold wet day.
Under 9s
The Under 9s played against Temora with everything going Harden’s way.
All the kids are working out some positional play and forming a few combinations between them.
Lachy Robb was outstanding down the left side putting on quite a display of all aspects of the game. He worked hard for the ball beating players with footwork and passing across to find his teammates in the middle to score. Tomas Mariani was again one of the best, finding the back of the net with ease. Annie Coulton backed up well and was rewarded with a goal or two herself. Overall it is pleasing to see they are playing as a team and sharing the ball around. Nice work.
Under 10/11
The Harden 10s and 11s side had a solid workout against an enthusiastic Temora, who, although not winning many games this year, always turn up full of enthusiasm. The Harden side continued its great season with a dominant performance.
Despite lacking a couple of solid regulars, the likes of Isaac Brown, Brody Schofield, Blair Porter, Chaz Cooper and Letitia Tyrell dominated their opposition.
Under 12/13
The Temora 12/13 team came to Harden winless for the season so far, but an enthusiastic approach finally paid dividends for the struggling side, notching up a surprise 6-5 win against the Harden side. Four goals to Jade Emms and one to Mikelle Rowe weren't enough to get the locals home.
Under 14/15
The first of three 14/15 games for the day resulted in another upset, when the Temora side snuck home by 4 goals to 3 against the Harden side. Despite a strong start, Harden’s Lubealloy team were not able to contain a fast-finishing Temora team, who used their speed to great advantage. The game ended a solid run of late for the Harden team.
The SFM Spreading team looked to end a recent run of poor form when they took on Temora. After conceding the opening goal, the Harden side showed glimpses of its early season form as they scrapped their way back into the game. Their defence was tenacious, and they soon found their rhythm in attack, sending Temora home with just the one win for the day with a 5 -3 victory.
The final match pitted the two Harden teams against each other. With pride and bragging rights at stake, along with a congested ladder to negotiate, both teams played with plenty of intensity.
The match was played out in great spirits, and just like the last time these two sides met, Lubealloy probably had the better of the territory for much of the game, however, the SFM Spreading side was able to capitalise on the few chances they were provided with and took out the match 2 -0. It capped off a good day for SFM Spreading, who cemented their spot on top of the ladder, and while not being such a good day for their Lubelloy rivals, weekend results see them remain in second place.
