The Hawkettes took on Bungendore on a bitterly cold afternoon with a gale force breeze blowing across the ground.The Hawkettes started very slowly and Bungendore soon jumped out to lead 12 to 0 and could soon have been 18 to 0, only for a great try-saving tag from Clare Smith.

This seemed to lift the girls and the game swung from end to end. With five minutes remaining in the first half, Liana Vizi crossed for a good try out wide.
Emma James converted it from wide out with a great kate kick straight into the breeze, making the half time score 12 to 6, Bungendore’s way.
The girls regrouped at half time and knew with some smart play they could get themselves back in the game. Shannon Hurley scored beside the sticks and with conversion made the score 12 all.
The Hawkettes were now starting to get the better of play and with eight minutes remaining, Katie Butt made a great run and beat several defenders to put the Hawkettes in front 18 to 12.
The girls then had to defend for the remaining minutes and held on to remain undefeated in a very determined performance. Best players on the day were Clare Smith, Emma James, Jess Doolan and Maddie Douglas.
Hawks The Hawks took on the Bungendore Tigers and got off to a great start. Carl Johnson was impressive setting up a try and scoring another one early for the Hawks to lead 20 to 4 at the break.
Luke Brown was posing problems for the Bungendore, scoring his third try after the break.
Young guns Pat Smith, Ben Davis, Sam Davis and Brent Shoard were all great; and with Matt Holmes and Chris Salway leading the way, the Hawks went on to win 28 to 20.
This week will be a big one, with the Hawks playing the Canberra Bears in a top of the table clash at McLean Oval on Saturday. Youth League kick off at 1 pm.
