A 4-ball aggregate stableford opened the two-day event, with Day 2 a 4-ball best ball stableford. In essence it was a teams event over two days and it took both players scoring well to achieve a success.
The sponsors put on daily prizes and individual prizes, and prizes go deep into the field when working on the one-only trophy per person principle.
Usually mid-field mud runners in this event, Tam Kennedy and Craig Filmer produced scores that won Day 1 and tied first on Day 2 to bring home the overall result.
Tam kicked Craig’s sorry failing short game all the way down the 17th and 18th, to post the win.
Tam played like a rock on both days to anchor the effort while Craig would pop his head up occasionally to contribute. The guys had a Day 1 aggregate of 75 points (39 & 36 pts) and a Day 2 4BBB of 44 points for a combined 119-point weekend.
Some four shots back at the end of the weekend tally were local dynamic duo Darrel Cassidy and Robert Bates. The men’s individual result for the weekend went to Kym Butler who had 73 points across his two rounds.
The daily winners were:
Day 1
Mens 4B Agg Winner: Todd Elliott & Peter Elliott 72 c/b
Runners Up: Ian Bruce & Bernie Parker 72
Men’s Individual: Eric Kuhn 38 c/b
NTP – 10th: Kym Butler 5.18m; 18th: Garry Wales 3.81m
Day 2
Mens 4BBB Winners: Ben Glover & Sam Porter 42 points
Runners Up: Ron Page & Kevin Hoppe 41 pts
Mixed/Medley 4BBB Winners: Tim & Barb Beveridge 42 points
Men’s Individual: Richard Harris

The club and committee thank those who travelled to make this weekend a success.
The club and golf committee’s gratitude also goes to the local limestone processors who continue to be involved in the social fabric of the Harden-Murrumburrah community.
Pennants
Round 3 will be played this Sunday at Cootamundra and this week’s team is Craig Filmer (c), Tam Kennedy, John Hawkins, Tim Beveridge and John Brownhill. Tee off at Cootamundra is 10am so please be there by 9.30am for a practice and heart starter.
Word is we are back in contention at tied second. A win this week would put us in a solid position going into the last of the round the following fortnight at home.
This week
The gents will have an individual stableford for the Matt Minehan Carpentry Trophy. Round 2 of the Club Match Play Dempster Cup also needs completing.
Ladies will not be per program and instead on Saturday will have an individual stroke/stableford for a Club Trophy.
