Junior soccer

Both teams showing high-quality touches far beyond their years. Sam Dunstan showed his speed and ability down the sideline, saving a few goals as well. Indigo Douglas and Toby Stevenson worked hard in the middle, showing some great skills. Fancy footwork from Darby Abnett had the opposition confused. Clair Corkhill had a great game.

The U/9 team also played two games against Cootamundra. Some entertaining soccer was played. Tommy Parker and Noah Tyrell led the way with some class touches. Shelby Abnett and Annie Coulton are shaping up as a force in the defensive line. Some fantastic goalkeeping from Corrinne Howe and Lachie Robb.
The competition age groups had mixed results against Coota Blue. The 12/13 side had a tight tussle against the home side, eventually going down 4-0. The game was much tighter than the scoreline would suggest. Jade and Brooke Emms continued their good form, assisted by Sandy Robb and Bella Paulissen. In the first of the 14/15 matches, the team scored a come from behind 2-1 win over the home side. Going in to the half-time break trailing by a goal, Harden continued to fight, until Mitchell Brown levelled things up with a banger from out wide leaving the Coota goalie helpless to watch it slam in to the back post and home. From there, the Harden side lifted. Miguel Whittington scored 10 minutes from full-time, leaving a tense run to the final whistle. Goalie Sam Emms had an oustanding game.
The Lubealloy 14/15 side was unfortunate to go down to Coota 3-1. Conceding a couple of unlucky goals, the Harden side fought hard to get back in the match. Campbell Allen finished off a great piece of lead-up work with a fantastic touch to score midway through the second half to reduce Coota's lead to two goals. But Coota manged to keep Harden to just the one goal, with some dogged defence. For Harden, Jordan Phelan and Jack Sargent kept probing in attack, while Sharna Allen, Chad Webster and Loren Daly had big games in the backline. Harden will travel to Temora for round 4 this Saturday.
