Fire and Rescue NSW Harden held their annual Open Day on Saturday, to the delight of many of Harden’s residents. The kids (and dads) loved being able to climb on the Fire vehicles, setting off the sirens and learning about fire prevention.

Although it was too cold to have the hoses running, everyone had a great day, learning about fire safety and the importance of having an evacuation plan.
Firefighter Richard Shulz reminded visitors that they need to check their smoke alarms monthly, not just annually when they change the batteries.
“Everyone needs to have at least 2 exits from their homes and know which windows can be opened easily in case of an emergency.” Mr Shulz said.
