Students from the Sydney Conservatorium, under the direction of David Miller OAM recently came to the region and delivered a number of performances as part of their Great Western Tour.

Mr Miller was once described in a Sydney Morning Herald music review as “the role model of Australian accompanists” He is recognised as one of Australia’s leading pianists, chamber musicians and vocal accompanist and has been appointed as a member of the Order of Australia for his service to music.
His 5 students were Michelle Yue Wang, who is completing her third year of a BMus Performance degree, on flute.
Liam Sherman, who is currently undertaking a BMus in performance oboe .
Twenty year-old Claudia Jelic is a clarinettist currently in the third undergraduate year of her Bachelor of Music (Performance) degree.
Ashleigh Jo began playing piano at age three, before learning flute and transitioning to bassoon at age thirteen under the advice of a band director, despite not knowing what a bassoon was.
At 21, the harpist Joanne Baee is in her final year of study at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music completing a Bachelor of Music majoring in harp performance.
The tour successfully performed at Young Public School assembly in from of 600 students, Young North Public School in front of 200 students before performing at The Murrumburrah Court House in collaboration with Harden Murrumburrah Arts. Society, where the approximately 40 audience members were inspired by these performers and enriched by their love of music.
