There were 10 very excited girls eager to show off their skills on the field.
With a mix of experience, from beginners to a couple who had debuted only last year, the girls went on the field to take on Temora.
Across the two games the experienced Monica Taylor scored seven tries and Kirsten Piper, two. Ivy Taylor copied in her cousin’s foot steps and scored a try in the second game.
Brooke Douglas proved she had a good boot with a conversion.
There was some fantastic tagging from Mackenzie Hambrook and Imogen Smith.
With some guidance from her teammates Imogen Steele played the dummy half role well.
Grace Card covered the field well in attack, only narrowly missing out on a try.
Tilly O’Connor, Mila Patyuk, Jaylea Drew backed up their teammates well and will be looking for more tags and runs next week. Unfortunately, the Temora girls were just too strong.
Boorowa/Harden Bowling Club under 9s had a great start to the season, comfortably winning. Everyone played exceptionally well. The two new players Sidney Weston and Alex Craig had a great game, both scoring tries.
BushHawks under 10s went down to a very fast and well-drilled Temora team on the weekend. The girls played well for the first round of the season up against some tough competition.
Debut player, Mylee Taylor, scored the BushHawks’ only try of the day. Also on debut, Katelyn McMillan took her captaincy in her stride, Dea Hirsch came along in leaps and bounds across the two games and is already showing signs she will be a force to be reckoned with across the season.
The fourth debut player, Carrie Smith had a sensational game, making some crucial try-saving tags.
