Harden Murrumburrah is set to commemorate the final stage of the Centenary of Anzac which marks 100 years since Australia’s involvement in the First World War.

Linda Hearne, president of the RSL Ladies Auxiliary, said her personal feelings on Anzac Day run deep.
“My husband was a Prisoner of War under the Japanese on the Burma Railway and growing up at school we always marched with the Red Cross on Anzac Day,” she said.
“Anzac Day has been in my blood since school days and has been even more so after the Second World War because I was older and understood more what it was about.
“I have lost not only friends and relations but my husband as well and he was only young.”
Mrs Hearne said it was a sad day for the lives lost but also a day of rejoicing for the freedoms Australia had gained.
The day will begin with the 6am Dawn Service at Newson Park.
This will be followed by:
- Harden’s Anzac Day march starting at 10.45am participants are asked to meet at 10.15am at the Harden Mechanics Institute
- The march will continue to Newson Park, where a memorial service will be conducted at 11.00am and conclude around midday
- The service at Lighthorse Memorial at 12pm
