The Bear has played one of his best rounds around Harden Country Club, shooting a glorious 62 nett or nine shots under his handicap. This has seen Hocking take out the B Grade Medal, with best B Grade nett at 62, the B Grade Scratch with 81 on a countback, the cay’s trophy and also collect the all important Guzzler’s Mug. The latter tends to keep players coming back for the value.
In A Grade, the medal went to another member making a more consistent return and he is now hitting form. Ron Fuller Jnr has shot a 67 nett to claim the A Medal and firmly announce his return. The A Grade Scratch went to Kevin Hoppe on 75. Balls went back to 71 nett on a countback.
The nearest the pin on the Bendigo Bank Hole in One Hole went to the guy who owns this hole in Peter Steinke at 3.54m. His shot looked so comfortable and a little bit more run out on the green could have seen another $1000 in the kicker. Our random carton draw went to a guy who also had a great round on the day without much reward. Ian Bruce had a handsome 65 nett on the course, only to be beaten by a smoking hot Chris Hocking for the medal, yet there were 24 trophies taken home for consolation.
Dempster Cup Draw: The April Medal spells qualifying for the club matchplay. The top 16 from the results on Saturday are now been in a seeded draw and the round one matches are:

David James On Fire in Midweek: Well the enormous scores in midweek have eased, but by no means a score to sneeze at in 30 points, has seen David James claim the bikkies this week. He played six shots better than his handicap around the 12 hole, par 24 stableford point layout to edge out his good mate Bill Kildea.
This week: We are playing a fun event, a 4BBB mixed/medley stableford multiplier. The two partners stableford scores are multiplied together for the hole result. It is definitely not an event where you want your partner to have a wipe.
An individual stableford will be run in conjunction and trophies for the day (team winners and individual men’s and ladies’) will be proudly brought to you by Craig and Toni Filmer, members and also owners of DA Busters – Development Assistance Services. Grab your partners (boy, girl or junior) and come and be a part of a great day out.
