The Pennant bowls resumed last weekend after the Eaampster break and local bowlers were in fine form; with both the Number 4 and Number 7 Pennant teams winning their matches. Results are:
Number 4 team versus Young Number 3:
Tom Apps, Rod Cooper, John Peterson and Kyle Murray defeated Cliff Traynor, Bill Maloney, Tom Preston and John Cooper 22 to 15.
Terry Ricketts, Shane McKellar, Craig Phillis and Tom Hawkins defeated Kevin Porter, Peter Slater, Max Penfold and Stuart Taylor.
Rod James, Graham Murray, Tony Fisher and Chris Hocking defeated Geoff Debritt, Col Chapman, Rod Cummings and Albert Carter 24 to 12.
Aggregate: Harden 67; Young 44; Points: Harden 10; Young 0
Number 7 team versus Bribbaree/Young:
Warren Chesworth, Brian Gibson, John Balcomb and Cary Peters defeated C.Petherbridge, R.Murray, R.Hannigan and M.Anable 25 to 16.
John Curtis, Reuben Rycroft, David Walker and Tony Zervos defeated B.McNair, E.Murphy, S.Thomas and S.Murphy 25 to 22.
Alan Tobin, Danny Vincent, Barney Heywood and Dick Walsh defeated T.Howell, A.Hutchinson, S.Douglass and P.Hewson 28 to 12.
Aggregate: Harden 78, Bribbaree/Young 50; Points: Harden 10, Bribbaree/Young 0.
This week:
On On Sunday, the Number 4 teams will play at home against Cootamundra Country Club Number 3 and the following teams have been selected:
Tom Apps, Rod Cooper, John Peterson and Kyle Murray.
Terry Ricketts, Shane McKellar, Craig Phillis and Tom Hawkins.
Rod James, Graham Murray, Tony Fisher and Chris Hocking.
The Number 7 teams will play Boorowa at the Boorowa Recreation Club:
Warren Chesworth, Brian Gibson, Warwick Prosser and Cary Peters.
Alan Tobin, Barney Heywood, Dick Walsh and Brayden Jurd.
John Curtis, Reuben Rycroft, David Walker and Tony Zervos.
The Number 7 team are in an unbeatable position for their last game and will win the Number 7 Pennant and go on to the playoff in Zone 8, which will be played in June. Very well done to the Number 7 bowlers.
The Number 4 Pennant team have two matches left to play and are still in with a chance of winning the Pennant.
Mixed Pairs:
The Semi-final of the Mixed Pairs competition are set down to be played on Saturday, April 21, between the following players:
Terry Ricketts and Chris Hancock versus Craig Phillis and Ann Marie Phillis.
The winners will play Tom and Robyn Apps in the Final.
