“We want this event to be as ‘family friendly’ as possible, all dogs of any breed are welcome, but they must be on leads.” Councillor O’Connor said.
The event will run from 11 am to 2 pm, with the main ‘Dachshund’s Parade’ commencing at 11.30 am, where the dogs can be dressed in their finest coats if the weather is cold, or their (or your) favourite costume.
“They are such a beautiful breed of dog,” Councillor O’Connor said. “They will all just look adorable in their parade.”
Harden Rotary Club will be running a barbecue, or attendees are welcome to bring a picnic lunch. Live local entertainment will be playing throughout the event and entry is only a gold coin donation. The afternoon will be wrapped up with a sausage barbecue for the dogs.
