Harden Fire and Rescue Captain Wal Leonow said that it is the law to have at least one working smoke alarm installed on every level of your home.
“We understand that it is difficult for some people, especially the elderly to change the batteries in their smoke alarms,” Captain Leonow said. “We are happy to come to people’s homes and perform this service, or even install new systems, if needed. Maintaining your smoke alarm ensures it's in working order for when you need it the most.”
“Please buy your batteries and give us a call; we are only too happy to help out. Changing your alarms or batteries at the same time every year creates a habit that could one day save your home and family.”
For anyone wishing to use this service, please contact Captain Wal Leonow on 0427 862 518, or pop into the Fire Station.
