From 9am: Take the time and visit Young this Saturday for the Lambing Flat Chinese Festival. It is a multicultural celebration in the heart of the Hilltops Region ,which brings together elements of the town’s early gold rush days when Chinese miners came to the diggings to try their luck. The festival celebrates the contribution of the Chinese to Australia. You’ll find afternoon and night Chinese Lion and Dragon Dancing, a Sunset Lantern Parade, Eat Street, Craft and Artisan Markets, Music, Art and a range of new attractions. APRIL 14: Each year the Bribbaree Show Society hold a show and shine /horse power gymkhana challenge. This year the day consists of a show and shine involving cars, trucks, bikes and boats along with lawn mower racing. Horse events involve an obstacle coarse , whip crack, boot and drum races and steer rides. There will also be cattle dog trail events.
APRIL 15: The M and D Society and Boorowa Balladeers will host a ‘Songs of Hope Concert’ with the Australian Rugby Choir, Gospel Folk Choir, both from Canberra, the M and D Society Choir and the Hilltops Choir with soprano Julie O’Connor and mezzo-soprano Rachel Campbell. Admission by donation in support of Young Boorowa CanAssist.
