The event is made for Harden golfers, two days of four man ambrose, warm weather, cold refreshments and a fair bit of fun and frivolity.
This year our little club sent four teams off and other Harden members combine in other Coastal teams as well.
Two of our teams have had a podium finish with Todd Elliott, Tom Darmody, Ashley Hall and Matt Minehan scooping the pool by winning the whole shooting match.
These boys have shot 10 under and 11 under par for their two rounds, finishing 21 under par total.
They have picked up $200 Coles vouchers each and Tom also collected a Nearest the Pin on day one. Fantastic work gents.
In third place were the team of Brian Wales, John Hawkins, Chris Hocking and Angus Gilmore who were a few shots back and came home on day two with a wet sail having six under on Saturday and nine under Sunday yet with a handsome little handicap.
These boys cleared $100 vouchers each from Coles.
This was a miracle score as at least three of the boys in this team were looking through beer goggles most of the weekend.
Craig Filmer picked up a nearest the pin on Sunday on the 12th hole also.
Club captain Craig spoke at the presentation ceremony and congratulated the club and machine that puts on this weekend for their continued effort and constant course improvements despite a tough year with no rain.
HOLDEN SCRAMBLE THIS SUNDAY
IS YOUR team entered yet with the bar staff at the club 63862 483?
This Sunday, there are already 17 teams lined up but more places on course and the starting sheet.
It is not too late.
Ring three mates, then ring the club.
RON KERR PICK UP SATURDAY STABLEFORD
IN A depleted field from 20 golfers attending Mittagong’s big golf weekend, the scoring was still hot here at home.
Ron Kerr has again figured in the count with an admirable 39 stableford points.
Ball winners went to 38 points and were awarded to Rick Preston and last weeks winner Larry Stephenson.
Nearest the Pin on the Bendigo Bank Hole in One 10th this week, went to Herby Manwaring.
Herb knocked one in to about 7ft in the old language to pick up the ball.
IAN BRUCE CHIEF MIDWEEK BURGLAR
THE master of burglary is back.
Finishing last year with a few solid midweek wins and second’s, he has returned to haunt the field so soon this year.
Ian has played six shots better than his midweek handicap and all 6 of these have now been hacked away.
Scoring 30 points in the 12 hole, 24 point par format has now meant Ian will resume play this week off a more modest seven.
Fast becoming the Chief Bridesmaid this year is Grahame Taylor, who is runner-up again.
Grahame was one behind Ian with 29 points who was in turn closely followed by Jim Wright, Ron Fuller and Grahame’s other round for the week, all with 28 points.
The ball sweepstakes winner was Ron Kerr, who probably used that very ball to win on Saturday.
