It marked a slight increase on last year’s numbers as the town became a hub of activity across both Saturday and Sunday, with teams coming from as far as Sydney, Canberra and Albury.

The best of Harden and Young’s touch players made their way to Cootamundra last weekend for the Unisex Touch Carnival.

Captain Riley Manwaring said the appeal the carnival was simple, "it's fun".

"It's a good social weekend and it's not far to travel," Manwaring said.

"We're all mates from Harden and Young, it's good to catch up with friends, they all seem to venture here."

Try Again won two B-grade trophies in three years and while Manwaring said the team was back again in 2018, he said the team wasn't taking it too seriously.

"Winning is a bonus, it's a social weekend."

Tournament organiser Tisha McTavish, meanwhile, said she was thrilled with the weekend-long event.

“I thought it was really good, everything went off well and everyone seemed to be happy with it all,” she said.

“We will try to keep it growing next year.”
