Our very own ladies’ president, Marj Manwaring has risen up the handicap ranks amongst the midweek burglars, enough to lash out and claim her share of the goodies.
Marj has shot an impressive 30 stableford points, six shots better than her handicap and the par for this 12 hole format.
Marj did not have it all her own way as it was a four-way countback on this score of 30 points.
Breathing hot down her neck at the final post were her own husband Herb Manwaring, Ron Kerr and Garth Webb.
Marj at least has bragging rights at home after this effort.
Marj has been docked all of the six shots and will resume duties this week on 22.5 as her new handicap.
Next after the bunch of four on 30 points was Graeme Taylor on 28 points.
There were 20 players in the rain shortened week of activities.
Weekend Golf
THE wonderful 85mm average drop of rain came way too late for the farmers in the district and is now seriously hampering harvest.
As well it interfered with the Monthly Medal which did not get a start.
The medal will be played this weekend on Saturday for men.
As cooler conditions are expected, ladies are most welcome and will be putting forward their best feet for a stableford competition.
The annual presentation of major trophies for 2017 will happen shortly after the presentation of the day’s golf.
Players are kindly asked to bring a plate and to book out some time from their busy schedules so we can sit back and celebrate our year’s champions.
