It was a tournament full of interstate flair with contestants from far north Queensland, Perth, Victoria, Tasmania, and of course, New South Wales.
192 players took to the course but it was the Lange and O’Keefe show as the Coota side outgunned their competition with a stellar performance in blustery conditions to claim yet another Australian two-man ambrose crown.
A strong opening round on Saturday set the tone for their success as the pair shot an impressive twelve under par in swirling winds for 59 off the stick.
Sunday’s conditions were more favourable but the duo could only manage seven under par, a testament to the course’s unforgiving nature.
However a combined total of 123 shots for 36 holes of golf was enough as Lange and O’Keefe snuck home ahead one shot of Canberra duo Nick Cochrane and Kris Hellier.
The win mirrors 2016’s thrilling contest between the Coota duo and local pair, Paul and Mitchell Deep.
In a close tussle, the experience of Lange and O'Keefe proved victorious in sneaking home one shot ahead of the father-son pairing.
