Tom Apps, Chris Hocking and Warren Chesworth are the 2017 Club Triples Champions after their win over Shane McKellar, John Peterson and John Baker in the Final played on Sunday.
Shane and his team got away to a good start, to lead six to nil after three ends had been played. The next five ends saw Tom and his team score ten shots to Shane’s one, to lead ten to seven.
They went further ahead when they picked up seven shots on the next two ends to run to a lead of 17 to seven.
The next five ends saw Tom and his team extend their lead to 13 shots to their opponents two; and with only six ends to play, it was a very difficult task for Shane and his crew to run them down.
Over those last six ends, Shane and his team were able to score five shots to their opponents one and they were defeated 22 to 14, in match where all bowlers played some nice bowls.

Young Triples Championship
Local bowlers Terry Ricketts and Shane McKellar, along with Graham Rossiter from Tumut, went off to Young last Saturday to play in their Triples Championship. The team played very well to win the tournament and come home with some punting money. Congratulations boys!
Boorowa Recreation Club President’s Day
On Sunday, Terry and Graham backed up with Alan Tobin and Brian Gibson to play in the Boorowa Recreation Club President’s Day. Same result as Saturday – the boys cleaned them up in Boorowa and came home with the major prize. Again, well done boys!
Ladies Bowls
Last Tuesday, Robyn Apps, Jenny Ricketts and Dianne Debritt travelled to Young for their Versatility Day. The girls played well and enjoyed their day, but no prizes.
A couple of weeks ago, a composite team of Harden and Stockinbingal bowlers contested the Callaway Richards Slaver at the Cootamundra Country Club and were successful in winning the event. The team consisted of Jenny Ricketts, Joan Clark and Chris Hancock from Harden; and Ann Larsen, Lisa Nichols and Erica Gestakouska from Stockinbingal.
Local bowler Robyn Apps was elected South West District Ladies Bowls President at their AGM last week. Congratulations Robyn.
Meeting
The men will hold a bowls meeting on Monday night, commencing at 7 pm at the Harden Bowling Club
