The most bleating obvious is that there is already an airport roughly 20-30km or so away from Barnawartha also known as Albury Airport.
However, the second being that we have a railway very close by that can be utilised to ship goods to other ports, sea and air, just as, if not more, efficiently as a brand shiny new airport.
On that second point, half the reason the North East line is so run down is politicians, like Mr Tilley, prefer quick solutions such as a shiny new train to look as though they are doing something.
But the trouble is they don't want to follow up with the required investment in maintenance.
In my view, while governments need to plan ahead with projects like high speed rail, what they also need to do is to upgrade existing infrastructure like the North East railway line.
Billy Tilley's idea is just a normal politician’s proposal to distract from his failures, a tactic Mr Tilley, after 12 years in government at the next election, seems to have just learnt to do.
