A strong crowd of parents and grandparents braved the chilly conditions to cheer on Cootamundra and Harden in the South West Slopes Soccer Association grand final.
Cootamundra had qualified for the big one a fortnight ago, while Harden defeated the other Cootamundra 12/13s side last weekend to qualify.
Cootamundra came out of the blocks well, dominating play in the first half and went into the break with a well-deserved 1-nil lead.
The second half was much more evenly matched with Harden able to get the ball near the Cootamundra goal on a number of occasion.
Eventually they equalised through a penalty, before taking the lead with a second goal.
Cootamundra did not give up, showing great courage under fire to claw back a goal and when the siren sounded it was a 2-all draw.
While all players had tried their hearts out to secure victory, there was no giving up for anyone.
Both teams showed focus listening to their coaches’ last minute advice, before heading out for extra time (10 minutes each way).
While both Harden and Cootamundra had their opportunities in extra time, neither team was able to convert.
The teams were declared joint premiers and all players received a medal following the game.
