The family’’s lives were turned upside down in December, when Annabelle was first diagnosed with DIPG, and with the news that she would likely not survive.
Adam and Kathie decided they were going to do everything within their power to save their little girl, and looked at several treatment options before deciding on the treatment being offered in Mexico.
They have been keeping family and friends updated on Annabelle’s progress via Facebook and Kathie posted the following message on Friday:
“We have the results from Annabelle's first treatment... It is working!!! We met with the doctors this afternoon and they told us that there is some shrinkage, but also that there is less enhancement in the tumour area which means that the tumour is less active. Thank you so much for all of your love and support and please continue to share our story”
This wonderful news has spurred the family’s efforts to fundraise, so that Annabelle can continue to receive treatment, which costs about $24,000 per treatment.
Annabelle’s aunty Annalise Potts will be cutting 35cm from her waist-length hair on Saturday night at 7.30pm at the Harden Country Club to raise funds.
Donations can be made at Hard Rock Gym, Twin Town Pizza, or come along on Saturday night and show your support.
