Could it be they didn’t approve the piggery application?
Did Hilltops staff have the authority to approve the application? Didn’t it have to go to government departments first?
I hope Tony has asked NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian to sack the ministers and the senior departmental staff who turned the piggery down in the first place.
About time the Flanerys realise that we can all have a say in town planning matters and it is just not the landed gentry who have the say any more. Ross and Tony, welcome to the new world of town planning.

What price of innocence?
Now that charges have been laid against Cardinal Pell there is a need to remember everyone is innocent until “proven” guilty. If the Cardinal is “proven” innocent he will have already suffered worldwide indignation, media ‘hounding’ publicity and his own ‘personal’ calvary.
Such can be likened to the lead-up to his trial as he awaits the outcome that could go either way. “Vengeance is mine sayeth the Lord” and justice will at long last be ‘seen’ to be “being done” (either way).
Let’s not forget that God is able (when we aren’t). Christ knows only too well how it feels to suffer for something “he” didn’t do. He, too, waited to be tried by the Roman authority Caesar wiped his hands of Christ, seeing no evil in him and therefore no wrong deeds had he committed. Christ was without sin (we aren’t). Those who await justice for the crimes committed against them feel justified in expecting a favourable finding. Therefore, why don’t we all (who believe in prayer) put it to the test and may God’s will be done. More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of. Let’s pray for all involved whose duty is to wisely determine the outcome for the church as it struggles to stay afloat on stormy seas. For the world’s people whose faith is wavering from learning about the goings on in high places that have rocked the church to its core.
For all those abused who are hurting unable to erase their pain. Also for the Cardinal whether we feel he deserves our prayers (or not). Sin is sin, not ‘measured because of its magnitude.’ In God’s eyes just to tell a lie is no different than covering up any kind of evil action anywhere at any given time. To him it is sin. Let’s remember what he said to those stoning the harlot. “Ye who are without sin cast the first stone”. God is “able” his church is rock solid. Let’s be kind and wait and see what ‘his’ verdict is.

Vital services miss out
In the last so-called budget, nurses, teachers, ambulance staff and police services, all which are vital to the public at large, were not rewarded with more staff and pay for their vital work. Instead of being ignored and virtually treated with contempt and been told to do more with less.

Diabetes? Don’t eat meat
Up to half a million Australians may be unaware that they have Type 2 Diabetes. The tragedy is that most of these cases are preventable.
Animal-based foods are high in cholesterol and saturated fat, which has been shown to raise the risk for diabetes.
According to the Victorian Government’s Better Health Channel, vegans are less likely to suffer from many chronic diseases, including diabetes, coronary artery disease, and some forms of cancer. If you’re concerned about diabetes and other health problems—not to mention cruelty to animals and environmental destruction – please opt for tasty vegan foods.
