Championship Pairs: There were three Championship Pairs matches played over the weekend with the following results: Craig Phillis and Chris Hocking defeated Alan Tobin and Danny Vincent with a score of 23 to 14. Craig and Chris established an early lead of eight shots to make the score 14 to 6 over Alan and Danny and held their lead, to run out easy winners. John Peterson and Doug Hawkins defeated Peter Burns and Warren Chesworth with a score of 21 to 15. Only a couple of shots separated the two teams for most of the match. However, on the 17th end, John and Doug had gotten away to a five shot lead and were able to hang onto the lead for a comfortable win. Rod James and David Bodell defeated Shane McKellar and Reuben Rycroft with a score of 23 to 15. Rod and David led from start to finish for an easy win. They did have some anxious moments in the middle stages when Shane and Reuben got to within two shots of them at 17 to 15, but Shane and Reuben were unable to go on with it and went down by eight shots.
Sunday Semi Final Pairs Craig Phillis and Chris Hocking versus John Peterson and Doug Hawkins. Winners of this match will go on to play Rod James and David Bodell in the Final on a date to be fixed.
