The girls took the match against the Raiderettes seriously, as the opposition were sitting higher on the ladder.
Led by Maddie Douglass, Emma James and Samantha Doolan in attack, the squad put together a clean performance with very minimal handling mistakes.
Defensive display, inspired by Em Quinn, Jess Doolan and Grace Smith, blocked everything Raiderettes threw at them, turning away about five sets of six just before half-time.
Outstanding flankers Shauny Murray and Casey Smith weren’t taking a backward step as Shauny in particular was playing like a “woman possessed”, having gained more pace and aggression post motherhood.
One of the highlights of the day was “intercept queen” Kate Menz, swooping on a stray pass from within her quarter, she activated those skinny legs into overdrive and headed down field, unfortunately the play broke down but I guarantee you all Kate will get across the stripe from an intercept before the year is out.
Points were awarded to Maddie, Shauny and Samantha with Emma picking up players player, from a spectators point of view it was the most impressive display so far this year by the Hawkettes.
The Hawkettes now travel to Gunning to take on the Rooettes.
