There was very little activity at the Harden Bowling Club on the weekend, with just one Mufti match played. The results were as follows:
Robert Bates and Craig Cooper defeated Shane McKellar and Graham Jenkins with a score of 23 to 16.
Robert and Craig were the winners of the chooks.
Cootamundra Ex-Services President’s Day
The local lads cleaned them up at the Cootamundra Ex-Services Presidents Day last Sunday. Rod James, Tom Apps, Brian Gibson and Tony Zervos represented the Harden Club and were in fine form to defeat Stockinbingal with a score of 27 to 1.
Young was next in their sights and the local boys once again proved too good with a final score of 21 to 8.
This was a good enough result for the team to win the day and get some of the Cootamundra cash. Congratulations boys.
Major Pairs Teams listed for Sunday, May 28.
Brian Gibson and Tony Zervos will verse John Peterson and Doug Hawkins.
Tony Fisher and Kyle Murray will verse Rod James and David Bodell.
Meeting
Bowlers are advised that there will be a meeting on Monday, May 29, commencing at 7 pm at the Harden Bowling Club.
Ladies Bowls
Jenny Ricketts, Joan Clark, Chris Hancock and Pat Walker traveled over to Cootamundra to represent Harden District Bowls Club at the Cootamundra Ex Services Invitational Fours and proved much too good for the opposition, coming home winners on the day.
The event was to raise money for the Cootamundra Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and raised approximately $1500.00. There were good prizes up for grabs and plenty of raffles on the day.
The ladies played two matches, the first against the Cootamundra Ex Services club. Jenny, Joan, Chris and Pat won this game easily, with a final score of 21 to 3.
The second match was against Yass, and once again our girls proved too good, defeating their opponents with a final score of 17 to 8. Well done ladies!
