Sam is the son of Liz and Steve Phillips of the Yarrawonga Merino Stud in Harden and his parents could not be more proud of his achievements.
“Sam will now go on to compete in Melbourne in late September this year,” Mrs Phillips said. “We are very excited for him”.
The winner from the Melbourne event will have the honour of being named an Associate Judge at the Don Brown Memorial Ewe competition.
Sam is currently in Year 11 at Riverview College and hopes to become a jackaroo on a sheep station after he completes Year 12.
“Eventually, I’d like to go to Agricultural College,” Sam said.
